Laura Alvarez fundó Laura Alvarez Architecture (LAA) en el año 2008 en Amsterdam tras colaborar en grandes firmas de arquitectura como Mecanoo, SeARCH, Benthem Crouwel y Carlos Ferrater. En 2021, LAA se trasladó a las montañas cántabras para seguir su andadura.
Durante estos años, el trabajo de LAA ha sido reconocido con diversos premios y galardones. Entre ellos se destacan el Primer Premio para la Rehabilitación y Ampliación del Mercado Municipal de Santo Tirso, el Europe 40 under 40 Award, que honra a los 40 arquitectos más destacados de Europa, el Primer Premio para la Rehabilitación y Reconstrucción de la Escuela de Arquitectura de Delft (NL), y el Primer Premio para Viviendas Multigeneracionales en Groningen (NL).
En la actualidad, LAA ejerce en México, Estados Unidos, Francia y España, diseñando y construyendo proyectos muy variados, desde grandes villas en San Diego, edificios multifuncionales en México o viviendas unifamiliares en Cantabria.
Laura Alvarez founded Laura Alvarez Architecture (LAA) in 2008 in Amsterdam after collaborating with renown architecture firms such as Mecanoo, SeARCH, Benthem Crouwel, and Carlos Ferrater. In 2021, LAA relocated to the Cantabrian mountains to continue its journey.
Throughout these years, LAA’s work has been recognized with various awards. These include the First Prize for the Renovation and Extension of the Municipal Market of Santo Tirso, the Europe 40 under 40 Award, which honors the 40 most outstanding architects in Europe, the First Prize for the Renovation and extension of the Faculty of Architecture in Delft (NL), and the First Prize for Multigenerational Housing in Groningen (NL).
Currently, LAA operates in Mexico, US, France, and Spain, designing and constructing a wide range of projects, from large villas in San Diego to multifunctional buildings in Mexico and single-family homes in Cantabria.
